Kure Beach
If you're already familiar with this enticing part of the Cape Fear Coast, you're most likely familiar with The Insiders' Guide® to Wilmington and North Carolina's Southern Coast. That handy little white book that provides amazingly comprehensive coverage of the pulse of Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Fort Fisher, Figure Eight Island, Bald Head Island, Southport, the South Brunswick Islands of Holden Beach, Ocean Isle and Sunset Beach, Calabash, and Topsail Islands. If, however, the Azalea and Treasure coasts are new to you, you've come to the site of the online version of the entire 448-page book that will answer all your questions and give you the information you need to enjoy life here as a true Insider. Enough chit-chat, let's get going with the recent edition of The Insiders' Guide® to Wilmington and North Carolina's Southern Coast! Oh, and don't forget the suncreen this time. Cross over the bridge on U.S. 421 at Snow's Cut, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project that connects the ICW with the Cape Fear River and waters to the south, and you come right into Carolina Beach. This island represents some interesting prospects for home ownership in the Cape Fear region. Prices are considerably lower than in the rest of New Hanover County because the island is perceived to be somewhat outside the immediate Wilmington area. The truth is it only takes 20 minutes of easy highway driving to get from Carolina Beach to downtown and suburban Wilmington.
